The Sun, the moon and the stars- I had always liked this phrase, it had this feeling of everything coming under its fold. Like everything belonging to it and being very, very precious. And when our grandson was born , I was telling my son that his little nephew has become the sun ,the moon and the stars of our life. From the moment of his birth he has become the most important person in our lives and the days when he and our daughter were with us ,our lives revolved around him.
The sun, the moon and the stars- they express the meaning so beautifully and they have concentrated themselves into this little bundle of joy and we are indeed blessed to have him with us, to have experienced the first few months of his life. Those months watching him become an individual who knows what he wants and does not want are very precious memories. It is really amazing how babies get whatever they want without uttering a single word.
The sun, the moon and the stars have always been there as far as we are concerned and they will always be there and we take them for granted. I have never worried about them falling over our heads like Asterix and the Gauls worried about the sky falling on their heads. But, I do worry about our own ‘sun, moon and the stars’ – I worry about his falling and hurting himself or about his getting fever or about something hurting him and so many such small things.
I smile when I think about what my heart believes now. Those heavenly bodies have been giving us life and energy and beauty and so much more are important and very necessary of course but not as important as our little bundle of ‘sun, moon and the stars’. I suppose that is life.
Grandparents are similar to a piece of string – handy to have around and easily wrapped around the fingers of their grandchildren. ~Author Unknown
It’s funny what happens when you become a grandparent. You start to act all goofy and do things you never thought you’d do. It’s terrific. ~ Mike Krzyzewski
