The Daily Post Photo challenge – Zig zag

My father grew up in a small town called Hospet in North Karnataka. Near Hospet is HAMPI, capital of the ancient Vijayanagar empire. There are many remains of that once glorious empire. This is a beautiful pool, an example of the beautiful architecture of those times. Those steps, they are a good example of zig zag.

  1. Nice take on the theme. I must profess my ingnorance on the subject of North Karnataka as well as the Vijayanagar, although they have a nice ring to them. 🙂

You’re welcome to come visit my late take on zigzag:

    1. Karnataka is a state in the western part of South India. Vijayanagar empire is one of well known empires of ancient India:) Thanks for your appreciation. Lakshmi Bhat

      1. Lakshmi is the Hindu Goddess of wealth, love, prosperity (both material and spiritual), fortune, and the embodiment of beauty. She is the wife of Vishnu. Also known as Mahalakshmi, she is said to bring good luck and is believed to protect her devotees from all kinds of misery and money-related sorrows

Learn something new every day. LOL Thanks.

  2. Nice Cris:))) In our country, usually children are named after Gods and Goddesses or connected. Earlier children were named after their grandparents, the same names were repeated:)) My paternal grandmother’s name was Lakshmi too:))
