The Daily Prompt:Incomplete

Fifty six years of togetherness
Loving and living
Fighting and making up
Transfers to different
Parts of the country
During the years of work.
Moving and settling
In new places
And new experiences,
Significant and insignificant,
With family and friends
Made life complete.
Never dreaming
One day what is complete
Might become incomplete.
Before the final sleep.
The final sleep is definite,
One knows one has to go.
But before that final moment,
The slow withdrawal
Into their own world
Allowing no one to follow.
The body is there
But the mind is not,
The feeling of being incomplete
More poignant than anything
And so completely helpless

    1. Thank you Derrick , I have come to my brother’s place to see my parents. It is really sad to see my father so helpless. But we are together . Family support is good. Regards
