“The squirrel slipped in
Picked the piece of chapati
And quickly slipped out,
Calling its friends from nearby
That they too could help themselves.”
Every morning we put pieces of chapati. Birds and squirrels come to eat them. Some times there are many birds but sometimes there are none. It is a pleasure to watch them. The squirrels hold the piece daintily in their paws and nibble away at high speed. A slight noise and they rush away. We have not seen them for some days.
