Everyday Moments (#SOL-2021)

We read in the newspaper that the Southwest monsoon season for this year is officially over. We were thinking the same because we have been having sunny day for nearly a week. Yesterday night it must have rained a little because the ground was wet outside. Today night too there was heavy rain for ten minutes.

The construction of a hotel is going on in the plot behind our house. Since yesterday they have been transporting mud to some place. The lorry drivers go up our street and it becomes so dusty. Yesterday when I saw the overseer I suggested to him it would be much better if the lorries joined the main road from the third street because it is a level road. I also said there are many senior citizens in our street. He understood and most of the drivers are going on the third street and coming down our road. We will be having this problem for some more years!

My mother loves books šŸ™‚

My elder brother and sister-in-law came on Monday. They live in Hyderabad. Yesterday they and my mother have gone to Puttur, a small town where my parents lived for nearly thirty years. They have a house in two acres of land. Fortunately, a family have been living in the small house adjacent to my parentsā€™ home for the last twelve years. They are looking after the place. My father passed away in 2016, they were living with my brother since 2015 as my father had dementia and was bed ridden for the last eight months of his life. Since then, my mother has been living with my brother and with us.

Today evening after many months we went to the grounds of Canara bank management institute for our evening walk. There is a walking track and general public are allowed to walk there morning and evening. There are a lot of mango trees and the sky with white and dark clouds was looking very beautiful.

In the morning we had been to our hospital. My husband had been advised to come for a follow up after three weeks. We went at 9.30 and returned at 12.30. There were a lot of patients and we had to wait. My husband is fine. The doctor has shown him an exercise which he has to do everyday. Fortunately, I had prepared for lunch before going šŸ˜Š. Hospital world is a different world. Just being there makes us realise how important good health is. We can do our best to be healthy but some things are not in our hands.

I am a person who believes there is not enough darkness in the world to extinguish the light of a small candle. We live in a small place in South India. I love reading, blogging, stitching, traveling, photography, listening to people and many other things which make life so very nice and interesting. Blogging is a fun experience, it has brought me into contact with people in different parts of the world and it is good to read about their everyday life. In spite of the differences there is a sameness which is fascinating. I have learnt and am learning something everyday. I have learnt to write haikus. I enjoy combining the thought and the number of syllables. I have always read books and I was happy to write short fiction. I had thought I would not be able to do so. Stream of Consciousness and photo challenges are fun too. Yes, there is so much in life that is sad and that hurts us. Many a time I wonder why life is so unfair to so many. We all have problems in life but the problems of many seems unbearable. This makes me feel so helpless. It is not possible to help everyone but we can do our bit, we can do something to help some in whatever way we can. I used to go to the Home for the Mentally challenged in our campus twice a week. I have been going there since 2011. The members are an important part of my life. Covid-19 has made it difficult for me to go there regularly. Hopefully I will be able to go there again. There have been many challenges in life and we have faced them with a positive approach. Our grandson and granddaughter have made life so much more richer.
