#SoCS April 16, 2022

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “nose/noes/knows.” Use one, use ’em all, bonus points if you use all three. Have fun!

Our daughter and grandchildren were with us for ten days. We had a wonderful time together. We live not very far from the Arabian sea. One beach is very popular and very crowded. We did not want to go there. Some months ago, we came to know about a long stretch of road adjacent to the coastline. We found this empty beach and decided it would be a good place to take Advaith and Kavya. They were excited. There are boulders on the sides and my mother sat on one of them. The sound of the waves tells us a lot about their strength. The beach was not flat and the waves rushed back pulling us along with them. Advaith and Kavya enjoyed themselves with Aravind. A man who was passing by told us to be careful 😊. We were.

My mother was sitting a little away from the water. After some time, we helped her towards the waves. She was apprehensive while walking on the sand and a little scared when the waves rushed past her feet. Advaith collected a lot of shells and made holes in the sand and was quite excited when they were filled with water. Kavya loved to run away from the incoming waves. They enjoyed themselves and we enjoyed looking at them. There were lines of boulders projecting into the sea at regular intervals. Maybe they helped to prevent sea erosion. Advaith was fascinated to watch crabs scampering among the boulders. The crab knows when there is danger. I read that its nose is very powerful. There were many crevices among the boulders which provided shelter to the crabs.

It was nearing six and it was time for us to leave. When my husband said that we should get ready to leave, the ‘noes’ from the children sounded louder than the sound of the waves 😊. Both were rolling on the sand and had to go to the water to clean themselves. They did this many times to delay the departure😊. At last, we left, watching the sun set for the day.

  6. You did exceptionally well to find a way to include “noes” which is a very unusual word, even to people whose first language is English. Well done, Lakshmi!

    1. Thank you Sir. I checked the dictionary to know the meaning. We don’t use that word. I enjoy the challenge.
