A Photo a Week Challenge: Preparations

IN A NEW POST CREATED FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE A PHOTO OR TWO (OR THREE…) OF PREPARATIONS.

We have a jackfruit tree in our garden. Usually we get about twenty fruits. We use raw jackfruits in different dishes. The ripe ones are usually sweet and we make many some dishes with the arils and from the seeds too.

This year there was just one jackfruit in our tree. We plucked it day before yesterday and cut it yesterday evening. We removed the seeds from the arils and I kept them in the freezer. Today I made sambhar from the raw arils. We all like it.

  1. I’ve just spent a very pleasant few minutes looking up recipes for sambhar. I have never even seen a jackfruit!
